Yesterday, Apple announced the new MacBook Air. As I was reading the specs for it, I thought this would have been the perfect machine for me back when I commuted to Manhattan by ferry or Path train. Or even when I travelled frequently to give JavaScript training classes.
I read a post about running Mac OS X apps on Linux on Slashdot this morning:

It’s now official: I’ve been offered a position as part of the UI team for the Apple online store.
Naturally, I’ve accepted.
Of course, this means we have to move again. Fortunately, I have a very patient wife… I’ll be scouting apartments down in Los Gatos, Campbell, and Mountain View. Basically, towns that have a town rather than just apartments and strip malls.
After spending most of my spare time building Web technologies lately, I’m
finally going to switch gears to building a Cocoa application.

I just finished reading an interesting article in the NY Times about the problems plaguing Dell Computer. The article makes a big deal about HP’s new The Computer Is Personal Again campaign, so I thought I’d check out the laptop offerings from HP.
