I’ve been meaning to write recently, however life has been conspiring to keep me mute. There’s still on-going problems with The Bean and now work has heated up and I’ve been recruited to design our new customer-facing Web site as well as provide some UI design ideas for an entirely new product. Then there’s the next version of BridgeBuilder to think about and all the UI challenges that will bring.
Using Google Analytics, I’ve finally been able to separate the statistics for nerd from our main weblog, newburyportion. This means I can see how both sites are doing.
I just discovered where the majority of my nerd visitors came from this week: Beijing.

For the last ten years, I’ve designed and developed cutting-edge user interfaces and proofs-of-concept for the Web and Windows grounded and informed by a background of hard-core C++ application development. I’m now seeking a product design position with an organization that shares my passion for developing exceptional products and where my experience, dedication and enthusiasm can make a real difference.
I’m always keen to hear from anyone who reads nerd @ newburyportion, which I always suspect is about one or two people. The advantage to having so few readers is that I probably can respond to every email message I receive…
There are lots of Web sites out there you could read; so, why should you read this one?
Who is Jeff Watkins?
First of all, I’m a nerd. Sometimes it doesn’t show, but the moment a discussion about one of my favourite technologies starts it’s like a fever comes over me and I have to take part.
